BUYING A HOUSE AND NEED A ROOF SURVEY?

If you are considering buying a house, one of the best things you could do is get a survey carried out on the condition of the roof. A thorough roof survey carried out by experienced, independent roofers has the potential to save you a great deal of money before you commit to the purchase.

Time and again we attend customers’ properties who have had standard surveys carried out. Repeatedly we hear things like, “a bloke in a suit with a clipboard turned up, and he didn’t actually get up onto the roof”. This means the survey would have been carried out from ground level and therefore a great deal of potential problems almost certainly would have been missed. Would that fill you with enough confidence to go ahead and make the purchase, or would you feel you still don’t really have a clue as to the condition of the roof, and most importantly, that you’ve wasted your money?

To carry out a proper survey the experienced roofer gets inside the structure to crawl around between the rafters, over the loft insulation and probe the eaves, to check it from all aspects. That’s not going to happen if the surveyor is wearing a suit!
